Sumbit a Conference Session ProposalWe’re currently putting together the program for our 2025 CTData on December 3 and we want you to be a part of it! Do you have a fascinating data project you’ve been working on or have any interesting methods or research to share? If so, we strongly encourage you to submit a session proposal for our conference! While we always appreciate hands-on presentations to further engage with the audience, don’t let a lack of interactivity stop you from proposing a session.
You can submit your proposal through the form linked here. We can’t wait to see what you propose!
Hartford Youth Data Fellows Data Snapshots Available Now!The Hartford Youth Data Fellows wow'd us all with the presentations of their community research projects at the State Capitol last month,
sharing data snapshots on homeownership, housing conditions, education challenges, and community safety with legislators and community leaders. We extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us at the Capitol building to support these young analysts and researchers and engage with their important findings. These complete Data Snapshots are now available here on our website, providing valuable community insights that can inform policy discussions and advocacy efforts throughout Hartford.
Data for Democracy ResourcesWhile the topic of “disappearing data” may seem alarmist, or perhaps relevant only to data professionals, recent developments in the support of publicly funded data
impact all organizations, including both non-profit and for-profit organizations. At our May 30 event in Hartford, we discussed how changes in data availability and data partnerships are affecting state-level data. We also discussed what organizations can do to comply with the law, protect privacy, and, most importantly, take meaningful action as participants in our democracy.
Additionally, we've created a resource page for our Data for Democracy series where you can find links to the resources we shared. We’re also planning another in-person Data for Democracy event in July, so stay tuned for details in our upcoming newsletters. The data landscape is broader and more interconnected than many realize. We invite you to connect with us and share how you’re staying informed and keeping your data secure.
