Data for Democracy Hartford:
Bridging Data Gaps and Building
Community Connections
Actions
taken by the current federal administration threaten the continued collection and availability of data essential for allocating resources, guiding decisions, and supporting communities across the country. These actions have already begun undermining protections for the LGBTQIA+ community, slowing public health progress, hindering integration efforts, and weakening veteran support.
In response, we have launched an initiative to bring together Connecticut’s data professionals to strengthen local data infrastructure, improve data literacy, and safeguard existing information through community collaboration.
Join us for our first in-person gathering in Hartford next Friday on May 30th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. State agency leaders will share updates on emerging data resources, ongoing projects, and public repositories. Together, we’ll examine current threats to data accessibility and build networks committed to preserving and promoting reliable data sources.
