Data for Democracy: Safeguarding Federal Data for Democracy

Data that are essential for resource allocation, decision-making, and community support are at risk of no longer being collected or available because of actions by the current federal administration. This is already impacting efforts to protect LGBTQIA communities, improve public health, support integration, and protect our veterans.

In response, we are providing opportunities for people working with data in Connecticut to connect so we can understand and strengthen our local data, improve our local data literacy, and support one another in the preservation of what we have. During these times, it's crucial that we unite as a community.

First, connect with us virtually on May 20th for the first in our workshop series where we can exchange and share resources to further strengthen our data access capabilities.

Then join us for one of our in-person events, the first of which will take place in Hartford on May 30th from 9:30-11:00am. During these events, state agency leaders will share data resources they're developing, including projects and repositories. Together, we'll examine changes affecting data availability and build a community around dependable sources. This gathering brings together data specialists, nonprofit leaders, and advocates to strengthen knowledge and forge connections during challenging times.

Webinar: Parent Perspectives on Child Care Access and Affordability in Connecticut 

Join us on June 5th, 2025, for a webinar discussing findings from the first Connecticut RAPID Survey and CTData's new analysis of child care affordability in Connecticut. Our team will guide participants through navigating the RAPID Survey 1 dashboard and highlight insights about child care access and affordability challenges in Connecticut.

This session offers an opportunity to understand issues Connecticut families face and learn how to use data to inform policy, advocacy, and decision-making.
