HDC to Present at The All In National Meeting 
Hartford Youth Researcher Shian Earlington, as well as CTData's Hartford Data Collaborative staff Kate Eikel and Geethika Fernando, will present at the All In: Data for Community Health National Meeting, a virtual event held on October 25-26. Their session will discuss their experiences working together to analyze Hartford youth engagement data and introduce ideas for incorporating and on boarding youth researchers. This year's All In meeting will explore the theme of Centering Communities to Transform Shared Data Systems. Sessions will highlight successful efforts to promote health and well-being through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Learn more and register here.

The Connecticut GIS Network is looking to showcase the amazing GIS work being done across Connecticut for Connecticut's GIS day on November 18 (register here). From students to mapping veterans and from project concepts to finished products, it is an opportunity to present, grow, and honor your efforts and help you expand your network. Send your presentation’s title, short description, and desired format to ctgisu2un@com. The proposal submission deadline is October 9th.

Mapping Tool Advisory Committee Grant Applications Open

Individuals and community-based organizations active in environmental justice work or related work in Connecticut are encouraged to apply to the Environmental Justice Mapping Tool Advisory Committee (MTAC). The deadline for applications is October 12th, 2022.

The MTAC will be an advisory group to the EJ Mapping Project, a partnership between the Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate Adaptation (CIRCA) and CT DEEP. MTAC grants will fund individuals and organizations for their time spent on this advisory work. Importantly, this funding expands the capacity of groups often disenfranchised from participation in tools or policies that directly impact them.
