Hi ,
We
emailed you last week with lots of resources and links, but tomorrow (Dec 6) at noon the State DATA Board is holding a public hearing about the Draft 2023-2024 State Data
Plan. The board is interested to hear about ways the state can provide greater access to data to support your work.
We would like to invite you to either share your perspective with the board during the
hearing or attend the hearing. The goals of the plan as written are:
Goal 1: Improve and increase relevance of the open data portal and related tools.
Goal 2: Ensure that the data lifecycle
promotes equity, particularly racial equity.
Goal 3: Improve use of data to inform decision-making.
Please register to speak here if you would like to share your perspective. You can attend the hearing via this live link if you don't have comments to share.
On a related note, we are hiring for a State Data Center Coordinator. In brief, we’re looking for someone who has experience working with census data and enjoys
helping people learn how to use census data. Our State Data Center Coordinator will be responsible for communicating about the changes being made to census data, coordinating logistics for webinars or in-person census data events, and generally being a go-to person at CTData for census data. If this sounds like you or someone you know, please take a look and pass it along.
Thank you,
Michelle Riordan-Nold
Executive Director, CTData
