From 2015- 2019 Connecticut's Percentage of Married Black Adults was 32% compared to the national Black percentage, 31.0. The state with the highest percentage is Hawaii 49.0% and the lowest is the District of Columbia with 18.8%.

Young Adult Migration Patterns and Connecticut: New Census Bureau Data Allows Exploration of Young Adult Migration
On July 25th, the U.S. Census Bureau in collaboration with Harvard University released a new interactive data tool on young adult migration. The data tool tracks patterns of migration between all 741 commuting zones in the U.S. from childhood to young adulthood for individuals with a Social Security Number who were born in the U.S. between 1984 and 1992. We explored the data to learn about the migration patterns of young people to and from Connecticut.

Data Visualization (In-person)

Friday, September 23rd | 9:00am - 12:00pm

During this hands-on workshop, you will learn the principles of data visualization and apply them with free tools. By learning the principles of data visualization you be able to create simple, compelling charts that effectively convey insights you gain from data, no matter what tool you use.

In Data Visualization you will learn how to:

Make decisions about color and design to communicate your message.
Create graphs in Datawrapper and Tableau.
Make decisions about how much detail to show (or not) depending on your audience.

Community Partners in Action is Hiring!

Community Partners in Action (CPA) is seeking a Data Analyst to work at our Hartford Reentry Welcome Center (RWC). The candidate must have a true appreciation for data, believe in the mission of CPA, and desire to ensure that RWC data is current and has integrity so that decisions can be made based on its outputs and analysis. The Data Analyst will work in collaboration with the RWC Program Manager and Evaluation Team. For more information click here.
