Thank you to those who joined us for the release of our newest data project, Connecticut Evictions.
We had over 270 people register, and over 150 people attend this exciting event!
This groundbreaking report uncovered new insights into the demographics of those most affected by evictions in our communities. A big thanks goes out to our partner CT Fair Housing, and our funders, Aurora Women & Girls Foundation and the National Low Income Housing Foundation.
By applying a Bayesian prediction model that uses a person’s surname and zip code, a method developed by Elliot et al., CTData assigned a predicted probability for race and Hispanic ethnicity of the renter named as a defendant in
each eviction court case. This is the first time this model has been applied to Connecticut's evictions filings.
